FTI Alumni are pleased to announce that the next SOS Film Festival has been announced. The  Literary/Film Festival will run from 8th April 2010 to 6th May 2010 every Thursday at 1pm.

Many people belong to book clubs and they are an excellent forum for book lovers to compare interpretations and opinions to gain a better understanding and appreciation of a book through community discussion.
The Seniors on Screen Literary/Film Festival goes one step further and invites you to also see the film version, in a shared environment, after which an open discussion will follow to explore the process and success of the adaptation from book to film. Later you can join the blogs on our
website.
If you haven’t already read the books they are available from the
Fremantle and other suburban libraries for free or they can be purchased from Dymocks Books in Fremantle. View the program

"TO BUILD OR TO SAIL" WINS THE 'SENIOR' CATEGORY AT THE MANDURAH FILM FESTIVAL 2007

The FTI Alumni congratulate Mr Fred Oostryck on winning the 'Senior' Category at the Mandurah Film Festival 2007 with his Digital Story "To Build or to Sail"

Fred was a last minute inclusion in the Digital Storytelling Workshop for Seniors conducted in April 2007.  One of the participants was unable to attend and when Fred delivered his wife Marlene to the Workshop he was offered the position.   He then had to rush home to gather his photos so he could join the group for the Storytelling Circle.   His spontaneity has been rewarded with this well deserved win.

Fred's story is one of persistence in building his 54 foot yacht in a suburban backyard.   View the story
